Serve the Lord by serving others

Jesus told a parable about a King saying to his servants, ‘Whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.’ He identified six key activities that are important to be involved in, each with deep layers of meaning in all of our lives: feed the hungry, give drink to the thirsty, take in the stranger, offer clothing, take care of the sick, and visit the imprisoned. Matthew 25:31-46

There are many ways to serve the Lord and others through Sunrise Chapel. It just depends on your interests and skills. You could work with people or help develop programs. You could focus on creating new plans or fixing things. There are fundraising campaigns as well as fun-raising social activities.

Volunteers also do service projects, providing support for other local organizations such as Ben’s Bells, Ronald McDonald House, Santa Rita Soup Kitchen, Southern Arizona Food Bank, and others.

You don’t have to be a member to be a volunteer. Just contact us through the office or talk with the pastor, Nathan Gladish, and we will either work with you to find something just right, or we can refer you to other key lay leaders.

Our theology and teachings emphasize the importance of service to others – sometimes called the Doctrine of Use (or Usefulness). It is through useful service that we connect with the Lord and experience real happiness.

We welcome your help and look forward to talking with you about your interests.
